**Job purpose**:
**Development Acceleration & Effectiveness** is a new function within Development who by definition are **action** and **outcome** **orientated** through driving a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement, using our **interfaces** to gain **insights **to maximise our **impact. **Through this we enable the Development organisation to accelerate medicine and vaccine development and deliver what matters better and faster. There are three core components of Development Acceleration & Effectiveness: Development Business Operations, Strategic Resource Management and driving Acceleration of our clinical trial cycle times and submission activities. All areas must be underpinned by effective and impactful communications to inform, engage and motivate our broad organisation.

If so we are recruiting an internal communications lead to support the translation of our strategy to a clear connected narrative through effective communication and engagement both within our organisation, across Development and ensuring alignment with the broader R&D narrative. The individual will report to the head of Development Acceleration & Effectiveness and join the Leadership Team enabling the creation and execution of compelling and engaging narratives for using the best tactics and channels available for critical aspects of pan-Development strategic and operational deliverables, in particular our focus on Acceleration and Strategic Resource Management.

**Your responsibilities**:
The individual will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and able to foster a trusted relationship with the Leadership Team, bringing creative ideas to the table but also appropriately providing challenging ideas and options to better our communications.
- Work with the Development Acceleration & Effectiveness Leadership Team to create and implement a communication plan that ensures the approaches to Acceleration, Operational Excellence and Strategic Resource Management are fully understood, effectively communicated and engaging of the audience.
- Partner with the Development Accelerators roles and senior Development stakeholders to create a compelling narrative (starting with Why) outlining the E2E Development Acceleration journey that resonates and connects to the wider R&D strategy for use with internal and external audiences that is punctuated with proof points and contemporary benchmarks.
- Partner with the Head of Strategic Resource Management to create and drive a communication strategy for the pan-R&D Resource Management programme.
- Create and coordinate our Development Acceleration & Effectiveness communication strategy in partnership with the Leadership Team with or without an external agency to deliver:

- A library of communication materials for use in different forums on the organisation, strategy and progress.
- Creation of brand aligned visuals.
- Creation of videos.
- Creation of animation/infographics.
- Creation of any specific campaigns necessary to deliver against business objectives.
- Work with the Leadership Team to create plans and content for effective communication and engagement of the global organization.
- For each event, drive the agenda/content, flow, work with the leaders to develop and deliver compelling materials.
- Create and maintain the Development Acceleration and Effectiveness intranet site including maintenance of acceleration/continual improvement sites such as those associated with Accelerating Submissions.
- Partner with the Development Capability Lead to further build the communication capabilities of the Development Acceleration & Effectiveness organisation to drive continual upskilling of this core capability for all individuals within the organisation.
- Ensure that any feedback or findings from Town Halls, Focus Groups, Surveys etc are analysed for root cause and that fit for purpose, realistic, clear, and timely communications and engagements are created and implemented.
- Support the VP of Development Acceleration & Effectiveness and the LT in any additional internal communications needs including individual responsibilities/objectives such as site leadership or Development Culture sponsor.
