You will design, implement and monitor an architectural framework, including architectural guidelines and standards, with the aim of having an overall, coherent framework that enables a long-term IT strategy.
You will lead, contribute to or assist in the development of reference architecture and best practices (in the form of an architecture study), and ensure ongoing communication via ICT forums.
You can deliver your studies in the form of a summarised deliverable.
- Drawing up the domain architecture ("blueprint") and the architectural roadmap for one or more architectural domains, taking account of the Business strategy
- Contributing to the development and updating of architecture criteria, principles, policies and standards throughout the organisation
- Contribute to the development, documentation and dissemination of norms and standards in your field
- Prepare and give presentations on architectural issues to ICT teams and/or ICT and business management.
- Monitor the mapping of your domain, i.e. infrastructure components, software components, databases and middleware layers, by carrying out risk analyses and quality checks.
- Assessing and approving all requests for new tools outside IT or Proximus (e.g. RFP)
You will constantly ensure that your target architecture is also implemented through concrete projects, and you will be the driving force behind the actual implementation of the target architecture. As an Enterprise Architect, you are responsible for implementing your target architecture within realistic timescales and in the constantly changing context that applies to it. Similarly, as an EA, you are responsible, for projects with significant impact, for promoting and imposing the move towards the target architecture for your domain, at every opportunity (proof of concept, study, project).
You will provide support to the IT Dev teams for certain Proximus Inflow projects (PIDPC) that have a significant impact on the architecture and you will promote the autonomy of IT Dev teams for other projects.
This means that you lead and participate in or accompany the solution design phase:
- Ensure that each design is aligned with the BeBold strategy
- Ensuring that projects and initiatives that have an impact on the architecture follow the validation process at the solution board
- Contribute actively to the project and to the support of the teams with the ultimate aim of completing the project, and remain involved until the end of the project. Please note: the level of involvement depends on the context and the need for guidance from an Enterprise Architect.
- Identify the architecture building blocks and other standards to be used for the solution
- Analyse the options and choices to be made, "Buy" or "Build", taking into account the hosting strategy defined by Proximus
- Making, documenting and communicating recommendations
- Describe the main design decisions
- List the possible alternatives and take into account the advantages and disadvantages
- Describe the impact of the solution on existing systems and infrastructures
- Check that agreed architectural decisions are respected
You will contribute to the culture of innovation within the Proximus IT environment and thereby contribute to innovation for Proximus as a business enterprise. You will oversee all initiatives related to the digital impact on the architecture, monitor market trends and recognise potentially interesting innovations that can add value to Proximus.
This means:
- You monitor, share and communicate (with colleagues, IT and business management) about new trends, new business models and IT innovations in your field (e.g. by attending seminars, events, reading articles and following the news).
- You analyse and assess the added value for Proximus of implementing technical innovations
You will actively contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the structuring activities that the team has put in place to support all of IT Dev, its processes and projects:
- You will play an active role in the development and maintenance of an architecture repository based on the Archimate methodology.
- You keep the inventories of strategic assets in the EA repository up to date.
- You share information proactively and always structure documentation on Confluence and SharePoint. You always supplement existing sources of information where relevant.
- You formalise your architecture recommendations (as far as the IT Dev teams are concerned) and you are clear about what you expect from these teams. You give responsibility to the teams and ensure that your recommendations are followed.
