Position Summary

We are seeking to hire an Assistant Underwriter to join our Brussels team on an initial 6 month contract.

You will support the underwriting team to manage the existing book of D&O policies.

Key Responsibilities

handling renewals including the administration.

Establish and build upon relationships with brokers, clients within Belgium and Luxembourg

Prepare and report figures and statistics for the business unit or team account.

Monitor and control the portfolio of insurances policies with the support of colleagues in our other European/UK offices.

Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure, at a level appropriate to the position, that appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance

May perform additional duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

2 years of working experience

Understanding of company financials / annual reports (balance sheet and P/L accounts) is preferable

Understanding of basic insurance principles is preferable

Intellectual curiosity

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

Effective communication skills

Ability to be assertive when appropriate

Ability to use appropriate systems to the technical level required

**Language skills are essential**: French, Dutch, English
