Project Engineering Director
For our client, GEA Process Engineering, Bakker & Partners is looking for a **Project Engineering Director.**
**GEA Process Engineering** is a renowned international technology supplier for the pharmaceutical and other industries.
As Project Engineering Director you are part of the site leadership team, and responsible for the engineering, quality and execution of engineered to order projects for process equipment, for both internal and external customers.
You will be based in **Halle **(BE).

- You are overall responsible for the quality and on-time delivery of all outputs from the local organization going to the customers.
- You **lead **the **project** management, **mechanical** engineering, **software **engineering and **documentation** **departments **who will be “your team” to deliver performance. You manage a team of **35 employees**, via **4 team leads**. You coach your team and ensure the development of the human capital.
- You have the final responsibility for the projects and will take an active role in **following up the project portfolio. **You will challenge and support your team leaders. You will look at the costs, manage risks and deal with problems. You **coordinate with other departments** to ensure on-time delivery.
- You build good **customer relationships **and maintain regular contacts with customers. You monitor and improve the customer satisfaction with the company’s performance and delivery, etc. You visit customers internationally, 3-4 times a year on average.
- You drive, support and participate in the **continuous improvement **program. You look critically at the existing processes, investigate problems and bottlenecks and put in place solutions and optimizations. You implement policies and procedures as needed to meet the business and regulatory requirements
- You **report monthly **into the leadership team on the performance and capacity of your direct areas of responsibility.
- You will report to the site leader and be a key player in the **site leadership team**. You contribute to defining and implementing the strategy and future vision of the site and drive forward the ongoing 4-year strategy plan to improve performance and profitability.

- You hold a **master's** degree, in **engineering**.
- You can build on a strong **management experience **in a **project engineering environment**, preferably working with capital equipment (machinery, process equipment,).
- You are **technically skilled **and able to understand GEA’s technology. You have a good knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering and preferably knowledge of software. You can represent the products at customers.
- You have experience in managing and developing managers / team leaders and hold **responsibility for departments**. You have a proven track-record to plan and organize daily / weekly activities and set priorities to ensure objectives are achieved.
- You are a strong **people manager**; you have leadership and change management competencies. You can drive change and manage, inspire, motivate and develop people.
- You are **customer oriented **and have commercial drive and business insight.
- You have excellent **communication skills**. You communicate openly and transparently; you can convince and motivate people to change.
- You have a **"can do" mentality **and are an energizer. You are entrepreneurial and enjoy taking initiative.
- You are **stress resilient **and you like challenges.
- You have excellent oral and written skills in **English,** knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- You are willing to **travel** occasionally (3-4 times a year) to customers worldwide.
