The Credit & Collection Clerk's role is to collect the amount owed by the customer within the allotted time, to ensure that the payment terms granted to customers are respected and to follow up any disputes raised by customers. He/She reports to the Benelux Credit & Collection Manager within the Finance Department of Air Liquide Benelux and is responsible for the 3 countries and for the various activities of Air Liquide that take place in the Benelux.

**Responsibilities**
- Use appropriate and defined methods (calls, reminder letters, etc.) in accordance with the internal process and customer segmentation;
- Take steps in accordance with the internal procedures to settle customer accounts and recover amounts due;
- Answer calls to ensure communication with customers on invoice payments. Identify problems with the customer and resolve where possible. In the event of a problem, inform the internal Air Liquide’s Customer Service Manager
- Follows up complaints and disputes with the relevant department (Sales Administration or Sales) as well as adjustments (credit notes);
- Analyze customer credit balances and request corrections if necessary;
- Prepare activity reports as defined in the procedures and ad hoc analyses if necessary.
- Monitoring doubtful customers, including bankruptcies and PRJs:

- Setting up cases and ensure follow up
- Liaising with the parties involved, bailiffs, lawyers, trustees, etc.
- Compliance with the legal framework in force in each country
- Preparation of accounting entries

**Skills and profile**:

- 2-3 years' experience in Credit & Collection or Sales Administration or Accounting/Finance;
- Good command of IT and ERP tools;
- Ability to understand the links between commercial decisions and financial results;
- Knowledge of commercial law applicable to the field of credit & collection
- Sharing information with customers and other internal departments to help understand problems;
- Demonstrate determination, action and responsibility to achieve defined objectives;
- Adapt communication style to interact effectively with the customer and all internal functions;
- Good knowledge of French and Dutch depending on the area concerned;
- Occasional travel within the Benelux.
