**Department Mission Description**

The Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) organization is a network-focused function which provides strategic direction and technical and operational support to ensure that GSK Global Supply Chain network, site goals and objectives are achieved, with determined strategy executed.

MSAT is the keeper of the body of manufacturing process knowledge, creates the instruction set and ensures manufacturing operations stay aligned with the registered process, with the primary objective being to ensure manufacturing processes are in control, compliant, performant & cost-efficient and remain state of the art.

MSAT’s primary functions are to lead technology transfers, implement control strategies, provide technical process support across the product lifecycle, industrialising new products and new modalities into commercial manufacture and driving any product-related programs within the GSK PCS perimeter.

**Position Overview**

The Head of Business Performance and Compliance is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving operational excellence and delivery within MSAT organization.

This leader will strategize, define and execute initiatives to optimize business performance, including the annual strategy deployment, tiered performance management processes, MSAT governance to support the strategic objectives of MSAT.

The Head of MSAT Business Performance and Compliance is responsible for driving the successful execution of local governance and processes within MSAT.This role will work in close collaboration with the Leadership Team to drive the performance of MSAT in line with the strategic ambitions, to define and implement measures to monitor and appraise the performance and progress measurement as well as drive continuous improvement.

The Head of MSAT Business Performance and Compliance is responsible for driving:

- 1) the monitoring of the Executive Environmental Sustainability Programs,
- 2) the implementation of GPS standards and best practices,
- 3) the comprehensive risk management and compliance processes within MSAT,
- 4) the deployment of the Learning and Knowledge Management objectives. In close collaboration with Finance, the role will deliver operational budget performance for MSAT.

The Head of MSAT Business Performance and Compliance has responsibilities for interfacing and aligning within GSK, across all GSK departments and representing MSAT, by providing expertise on project and performance management.

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Drive annual Objectives Setting process for MSAT
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize business performance and ensure robust governance within MSAT. Aligning and “connecting the dots” across the functions to ensuring an integrated and holistic performance plan.
- Partner with the Leadership Team members to ensure coordinated approach in achieving MSAT projects and financial goals.
- Influence key stakeholders on project prioritization. Develop and monitor KPIs and take actions to understand and resolve poor performance.
- Provide performance data and insights to support timely and effective decision-making by the Leadership Team.
- Drive the value generation principles within MSAT
- Develop, deploy and continuously improve a comprehensive risk management strategy and compliance process following the Internal Control Framework (ICF) model covering quality, EHS, strategic and reputational risks.
- Lead the deployment of the GPS master plan (Tier optimization, LSW and Site agenda implementation, Coaching of CI network).
- Management of multiple interfaces at leadership level on behalf of MSAT within Global Supply Chain and across the wider GSK organization. Act as a thought partner to Quality, Risks, Continuous improvement, and Sustainability
- Ensure disciplined and consistent practices across MSAT including ways of working, reporting and project management tools.
- Implement innovative global solutions to enhance operational performance by identifying gaps, eliminating waste, and improving processes to streamline and drive efficiency.
- Responsible for leading a team of Manager and business performance colleagues, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Deliver operational budget performance for MSAT
- Contribute to provide a full business analysis of process design issues and opportunities.
- Drive the implementation and monitoring of the Executive Environmental Sustainability Programs within MSAT
- Drive the MSAT deployment of the Learning and Knowledge Management initiatives
