**OVER DE UGENT**
De Universiteit Gent is een van de belangrijkste onderwijs
- en onderzoeksinstellingen in de Lage Landen. 15.000 medewerkers en 50.000 studenten maken dagelijks het motto “Durf Denken” waar. Kwaliteitsvol onderwijs, internationaal gewaardeerd onderzoek en een pluralistische maatschappelijke verantwoordelijkheid kenmerken de missie van de UGent.
**OPDRACHT**
De vakgroep Archeologie van de Faculteit Letteren en Wijsbegeerte van de Universiteit Gent organiseert de Nederlandstalige Bachelor
- en Masteropleiding Archeologie. Het studentenaantal verdubbelde over de afgelopen acht jaar tot bijna 300 studenten. De vakgroep verzorgt onderwijs en onderzoek in de Prehistorie van Noordwest Europa, Protohistorie van Noordwest Europa, Historische Archeologie van Noordwest Europa, Archeologie van het Oude Nabije Oosten, Griekse Archeologie, Protohistorie van de Egeïsche Wereld, Mediterraan Romeinse Archeologie, Archeometrie, Ecologische Archeologie en Biologische Antropologie en Bioarcheologie.
De vakgroep is op zoek naar een docent Mediterraan Romeinse Archeologie die vanaf 1 februari 2025 het team komt versterken met een opdracht die academisch onderwijs, wetenschappelijk onderzoek en wetenschappelijke dienstverlening omvat.
Deze vacature betreft een ambt als Zelfstandig Academisch Personeel (ZAP). Kandidaten moeten getuigen van een wetenschappelijke excellentie op basis van criteria van wetenschappelijke kwaliteit, wat onder meer blijkt uit publicaties in tijdschriften en boeken met internationale zichtbaarheid en uit het vooropgestelde wetenschappelijk onderzoek in het onderzoeksplan.
**Academisch onderwijs**
U doceert verschillende opleidingsonderdelen in het domein van de Mediterraan Romeinse Archeologie alsmede één of meer Algemene Vakken.
**Wetenschappelijk onderzoek**
U bouwt onderzoek uit in het domein van de Mediterraan Romeinse Archeologie.
**Wetenschappelijke dienstverlening**
U werkt mee aan de interne en externe dienstverlening van de vakgroep Archeologie.
**PROFIEL**
**Kennis/ervaring**
- U hebt een doctoraat behaald in een vakgebied relevant voor de Mediterraan Romeinse Archeologie;
- U hebt reeds excellent wetenschappelijk onderzoek verricht in het opgegeven vakgebied zoals blijkt uit onderzoeksoutput van hoog niveau in nationale en internationale publicaties (tijdschriften en/of boeken) met leescomité, bij voorkeur in het centrale / westelijke Middellandse zeegebied;
- U hebt concrete plannen om verder onderzoek in het opgegeven vakgebied uit te bouwen;
- U beschikt over praktische kennis van de Mediterraan Romeinse materiële cultuur;
- U beschikt over ervaring met archeologisch veldwerk (opgravingen, surveys, prospectietechnieken,);
- U beschikt over didactische vaardigheden die gericht zijn op het ontwikkelen en realiseren van academische competenties bij universiteitsstudenten;
- Strekken tot aanbeveling:
- Ervaring hebben met het initiëren en leiden van onderzoek en de hiervoor nodige verwerving van fondsen;
- Ervaring hebben met het begeleiden van onderzoek en/of doctoraten;
- Internationale mobiliteit o.m. door onderzoekverblijven in onderzoeksinstellingen extern aan de instelling waaraan de hoogste academische graad werd behaald;
- Positief geëvalueerde ervaring met verstrekt en/of georganiseerd onderwijs op academisch niveau;
- Onderwijsprofessionalisering;
- Aantoonbare raakvlakken met andere domeinen binnen de vakgroep wat betreft onderzoek en onderwijs.
- U dient de onderwijstaal waarin u een opleidingsonderdeel zal doceren te beheersen op het ERK-niveau C1. U kan dit aantonen aan de hand van een taalattest of een diploma behaald aan een instelling waarin die taal de onderwijstaal is. Bovendien vereist artikel II.270, -1 van de Codex Hoger Onderwijs dat: (i) u binnen de 2 jaar na de aanstelling de Nederlandse taal minstens op ERK-niveau A2 dient te beheersen. (ii) u op het moment van benoeming of ten laatste 5 jaar na de aanstelling het vereiste beheersingsniveau op ERK-niveau B2 moet kunnen aantonen. **Toelatingsvoorwaarden**
- U bent houder van een diploma van doctor op proefschrift of van een diploma of certificaat dat als gelijkwaardig wordt erkend (artikel V.20 Codex Hoger Onderwijs).
