Minimum qualifications:

- Experience with working on public affairs, political communications, and/or tech policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, private sector, or relevant industry associations.
- Experience with working in Europe, working with EU Institutions.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with international teams and a variety of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with executing cross-functional projects and strategies and delivering exceptional solutions.
- Knowledge of the Internet industry, technologies and the policy environments that surround them.
- Ability to advocate on behalf of Google’s core policy issues.
- Excellent political, analytical, and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent network within EU Institutions and Brussels-based stakeholder groups.
**About the job**:
As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a diverse global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.
As a Government Affairs and Public Policy Senior Manager for Europe, you will work alongside the broader Government Affairs and Public Policy team on policy issues and reputation activities related to Google’s economic contribution, digital responsibility and sustainability leadership. You'll advise, support, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to shape efforts to demonstrate that Google is contributing and partnering to achieve the objectives of Europe’s digital and green agenda. In particular, you will be supporting the Public Affairs team in building relationships with EU Institutions and Brussels-based stakeholder groups to foster constructive dialogue and collaboration.
Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead Google’s Public Affairs efforts in Brussels and provide insights and analysis regarding EU digital, economic, social and environmental policy developments.
- Engage EU policymakers, think tanks, NGOs and other advocacy groups by creating and implementing activities, projects and partnerships that provide the opportunity to highlight Google’s contribution and commitment to Europe.
- Work closely with public policy, marketing and communications at Google to create integrated campaigns and engagement moments.
