We explore new technologies and invest in infrastructure to accommodate hydrogen, biomethane, CO₂ and other molecules for a climate neutral future. The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Department heads up and implements the Group's global M&A strategy to boost external growth, secure strategic assets and support Fluxys' ambition of 'shaping a bright energy future'. We oversee the entire M&A cycle, from origination to closing, ensuring strategic alignment and value creation. At every stage, the team coordinates cross‑functional analysis, structuring, due diligence activities and negotiations with internal and external experts as well as the other stakeholders in the M&A process. Our Mergers & Acquisitions Department is looking for a Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (m/f/x). Job purpose You will head up the Group's global mergers and acquisitions strategy and become a key player in the energy transformation. Your task will be to boost international growth, secure strategic assets and shape a sustainable energy future. You will be responsible for the entire M&A process, from identifying opportunities to closing deals, while ensuring strategic alignment and value creation. Your responsibilities - You will define and implement Fluxys' external growth strategy in Europe and beyond, providing advice to senior management and ensuring the achievement of strategic objectives. You will develop the global mergers and acquisitions roadmap and turn the vision into annual objectives, guidelines and projects for the M&A team. - You will help to build and update the pipeline of opportunities (investments, asset acquisitions, joint ventures) by identifying and defining high‑impact targets, in line with Group's strategy. - You will identify strategic partnerships as well as growth opportunities. - You will head up, in conjunction with the relevant internal teams and external partners, the analysis, development and implementation of transactions, including structuring, assessing, due diligence, contractual negotiations and signing/closing the deal. You will produce robust business cases and strategic and financial analyses to support internal approval processes. - You will help to manage stakeholders (partners in joint ventures, advisers, authorities, etc.). In this way you will build and consolidate relationships of trust with key market players and develop strategies to create an environment that is conducive to successful deals. - You will support other internal teams as they draw up integration roadmaps. - You will take charge of strategic monitoring and set up effective internal and external information networks, with a view to anticipating trends and optimally identifying high‑potential opportunities. - You will lead and inspire the M&A team, develop talent and foster seamless collaboration between the various teams to ensure that the relevant deals are successful. - You will improve organisational efficiency by establishing best practices and proposing improvements involving a cross‑functional vision. You will establish a culture of compliance, agility and continuous learning and will support change. About you - You hold a master's degree in engineering, economics or law and have acquired substantial expertise in complex and international environments. - You have at least 10 years' relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions, ideally in the energy or infrastructure sector, giving you an understanding of the strategic challenges involved in major M&A deals. - You combine keen business acumen with an excellent understanding of financial and contractual mechanisms, enabling you to successfully structure and manage complex operations and partnerships. - As a recognised leader, you have a proven track record in managing and inspiring teams, along with the ability to bring together, motivate and develop talent in a high‑pressure environment. - You possess policy/strategic acumen and an ability to manage relationships at the highest level, making you a trusted partner for stakeholders. You have excellent communication and negotiation skills and an outstanding ability to influence others and to forge successful partnerships. - You are comfortable working in a cross‑functional, dynamic and constantly changing environment, where agility and speed of decision‑making are absolutely crucial. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and a results‑oriented approach, allowing you to turn opportunities into tangible achievements. - You are fluent in Dutch and/or French as well as English, ensuring that you feel at home working in an international environment. Why should you apply? We offer a very attractive package of extra‑legal benefits, including a.o.: collective and individual bonus, company car, smartphone, internet, expense allowance, meal vouchers, cafeteria plan, 38 holidays, intervention of 30% on your energy bill, hospitalisation and outpatient care insurance for the whole family, pension plan, as well as the possibility of working from home. But above all: - Contribute and innovate towards a carbon‑neutral world - Develop and shape a brilliant career in a fast‑growing international group - Showcase your strong appetite to contribute towards an array of dynamic projects that challenge your intellect #J-18808-Ljbffr
