Role Overview:
The Head of Business Development will be responsible for driving Giftify's growth by expanding into new markets and acquiring new clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep experience in business development within the payments or retail sectors. As the leader of a team of Business Developers, you will create and execute strategies to achieve revenue goals, and position Giftify as a market leader. You will accomplish this through the ability to sell the full scope of the company’s solutions in a consultative manner, negotiate an effective contract, and tailor solutions that address client needs. This role requires high-level execution at every stage of the pipeline development and sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Business Developers to drive new client acquisition.
- Market Expansion: Identify and develop new business opportunities in the gift card and payment sectors, focusing on increasing market penetration across shopping malls, small retailers, and shopping centers, while helping to expand into new verticals/ geographies..
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales targets. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt the strategy.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations. Negotiate and close high-value deals.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with legal, product, finance, and marketing teams to ensure the smooth execution of new deals and projects.
- Reporting & Insights: Provide sales forecasts, regular updates, and strategic insights to the senior management team to guide decision-making.
- Travel: Represent Giftify at industry events and client meetings across Europe. Travel as required.
- Optimizing Operations: Improve processes and automation and establish the necessary foundations to support further scalability.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in business development, ideally in payments, retail, or a similar sector.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams. Experience managing remote teams is a plus.
- 5+ years of sales experience with a focus on market expansion and client acquisition.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills; strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- Able to conduct pipeline analysis and opportunity forecasting.
- Excellent customer-centred selling skills.
- Very strong influencing skills. Exceptional listening and interpersonal skills.
- Solutions oriented, with an understanding of how to work with senior level management.
- Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Hubspot) and data analysis.
- Fluent in English, with additional European languages as a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
