Interim General Counsel

We are seeking a seasoned Interim General Counsel to join our team at Robert Walters Belgium. As a Freelance General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice on HR-related and regulatory matters in multiple jurisdictions.
Your key areas of focus will include:
- Employment Law & HR Support:
- Advise on employment law and compliance matters, including contracts, terminations, and workplace policies
- Support cross-border employment issues, such as secondments, remote work, and employee mobility
- Represent the employer's interests in works council meetings and interact with trade unions and works councils
- Manage litigation and disputes related to labor law
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Evaluate and improve existing or develop new corporate compliance programs
- Investigate employment and compliance matters
- Train HR and leadership teams on regulatory obligations and best practices
- Corporate & Commercial Legal Advisory:
- Support M&A transactions from a corporate law, employment, and compliance perspective
- Draft complex commercial and employment-related agreements
- Stay up-to-date with changing legislation and adapt contract templates, policies, and processes accordingly
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- LAW degree from an accredited university and relevant professional experience
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong understanding of employment law and compliance in multiple jurisdictions
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
