Mobile Test Automation Engineer
Location:
Brussels, Belgium 50% onsite / 50% remote Freelance Contract: August 2026 – December 2027 We are looking for an experienced Mobile Test Automation Engineer to join our client in Brussels. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining automated end-to-end tests across iOS and Android, covering both native application screens and embedded Flutter-based screens.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain automated mobile test scenarios.
- Automate complete customer journeys across iOS and Android.
- Translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into robust automated tests.
- Execute tests on real devices, emulators and simulators.
- Analyse failures and identify application, automation, environment or data issues.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and reporting.
- Maintain and improve automation frameworks, reliability and execution speed.
- Work closely with developers, testers and DevOps teams in an Agile environment. Skills & Experience
- 6+ years' experience in software testing, with strong mobile automation expertise.
- Strong Appium experience across both Android and iOS.
- Good knowledge of Java, Selenium, Cucumber and Gherkin/BDD.
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Experience with Perfecto or a similar mobile device testing platform.
- Good knowledge of Git, Maven, Jenkins and TestNG or equivalent tools.
- Experience working with real devices, emulators and simulators.
- Strong troubleshooting and defect analysis skills.
- Experience with CI/CD and Agile ways of working. Nice to Have
- Experience testing Flutter-based applications or SDK screens.
- Knowledge of UI Automator, Espresso or XCUITest.
- API testing, mocking/stubbing or mobile performance testing experience.
