RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
- LEUVEN (BELGIUM)
- PERRMANENT POSITIONWe're currently recruiting for an R&D Engineer to join its advanced electronics team worked on research and development topics. The company develops cutting-edge electronic technologies for industrial applications and is looking for an engineer with a strong interest in hardware validation, experimental research and technology development.
This is a hands-on R&D position focused on investigating, testing and evaluating electronic systems rather than designing them from scratch. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and researchers to validate new technologies, assess existing hardware platforms and support the transition of research concepts into practical industrial solutions.
The position offers exposure to a broad range of advanced electronics technologies, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining laboratory work with analytical research.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute validation and verification activities for electronic hardware and embedded systems.
Develop and maintain laboratory test setups to evaluate electronic assemblies and integrated circuits.
Perform testing, debugging and performance analysis of FPGA-based platforms and ASIC devices.
Investigate the behaviour and performance of existing electronic products to support future technology development.
Support the industrialisation of new electronic technologies through structured testing and technical evaluation.
Carry out experimental work, analyse results and identify opportunities for product and process improvements.
Research emerging technologies, components and industry developments relevant to future electronic systems.
Produce clear technical documentation, test reports and research findings.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on research and development projects.
Participate in technical conferences, workshops and industry events to remain current with technological advances.
Candidate ProfileBachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Good practical understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
Knowledge of C programming.
Experience with laboratory testing, debugging and electronic measurement equipment.
Strong analytical and investigative approach to problem solving.
Comfortable working on experimental projects where testing and validation are central to the role.
Able to communicate technical findings clearly and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
