The team develops FHIR repositories, ingestion and transformation pipelines, APIs, interoperability services and data-governance mechanisms. Its work turns fragmented clinical information into structured, interoperable and reusable data. Data Engineering works closely with our Terminology and Data Science teams, combining FHIR, SNOMED CT, NLP and automated data-quality management. The team addresses real-world challenges around provenance, security, reconciliation and federated exchange of health data. /ph3About the job /h3pAs a bData Engineering Lead /b, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our healthcare data products. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities, ensuring development efforts stay aligned with product priorities, customer commitments, and technical sustainability. /ppYou will serve as the technical reference point for decisions within the Data Engineering domain, and act as the operational bridge between the Product Lead, the Operations Manager, and the development team. /ppYour mission is to turn ambitious product vision into fast, scalable, high-quality execution, maximizing customer value without compromising technical excellence. /ph3bKey Objectives /b /h3ulliLead and develop the Data Engineering. /liliTranslate product priorities into actionable technical work. /liliMaintain and prioritize the operational backlog in Jira. /liliEnsure high standards of software quality, testing, and documentation. /liliBalance product roadmap objectives with delivery commitments and technical constraints. /liliDrive automation and continuous improvement initiatives. /liliRevise workflows to integrate AI and new technologies to reduce development cycles. /liliContribute to the long-term evolution of EMS healthcare data products. /li /ulh3bYour responsibilities will be /b /h3h3bTechnical Leadership /b /h3ulliLead and mentor a team of Data Engineers (currently one person). /liliDefine, review, and coordinate the team's work and technical priorities. /liliGuide architectural decisions and ensure consistency across developments. /liliReview code, mentor developers, and promote engineering best practices. /liliEnsure technical debt is identified, documented, and addressed appropriately. /liliAct as the primary technical escalation point for the Data Engineering domain. /li /ulh3bProduct Delivery Backlog Management /b /h3ulliMaintain and continuously refine the operational backlog in Jira. /liliTranslate product objectives and functional requirements into prioritized technical tasks. /liliWork closely with the Product Lead to ensure roadmap objectives are executable. /liliProvide effort estimates and technical feasibility assessments. /liliIdentify dependencies, risks and capacity constraints. /liliEnsure developments are delivered according to agreed priorities and commitments. /li /ulh3bQuality Automation /b /h3ulliDefine and implement testing strategies and quality-control mechanisms. /liliEstablish automated product validation and monitoring processes. /liliBuild automated reporting and alerting systems. /liliImprove traceability, reproducibility and reliability of data processes. /liliPromote DataOps practices and continuous improvement. /liliDesign and implement scalable data pipelines and processing workflows. /liliDevelop algorithms supporting terminology mapping, data normalization and quality assessment. /liliAutomate terminology ingestion and integration processes. /liliCollaborate with Product, Data Science and Engineering teams to deploy production-ready solutions. /liliContribute to the continuous evolution of the Termino platform and related products. /li /ulh3bTeam Cross-functional Collaboration /b /h3ulliSupport the professional growth and development of team members. /liliFoster a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous learning. /liliParticipate in capacity planning and delivery planning activities. /liliCollaborate closely with Product, Operations, Data Science and commercial stakeholders. /liliProvide regular visibility on progress, risks and resource needs. /li /ulh3bWhat Success Looks Like /b /h3pDuring your first year, you will: /pulliSuccessfully lead and develop the Data Engineering team. /liliEstablish a clear and maintainable Jira backlog. /liliImprove visibility and predictability of delivery. /liliImplement automated testing and reporting mechanisms. /liliReduce technical debt and improve platform reliability. /li
