MedTech Europe, the European trade association representing the medical technology industries, from diagnosis to cure, is currently looking for an Officer Communications. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the successful candidate will be an eager-to-learn junior communicator with a first experience in policy comms and a passion for telling effective stories and narratives around healthcare and technology, towards EU institutions and stakeholders.

You will join a friendly, highly motivated Communications team that works closely with the organisation's members and technical and policy experts. The Officer plays a central role in bringing the team's content to life — producing digital-first, audience-ready material and keeping projects, monitoring and admin running smoothly, working under the guidance of the Manager Communications.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Digital Content Production Produce, adapt, and schedule content across MedTech Europe's digital channels (website, newsletters, social media) in line with the yearly content calendar, translating technical and advocacy files into clear, engaging material for general and specialist audiences. Track content performance and report on key metrics to refine future output.

2. Media and Social Media Monitoring Own day-to-day media and social monitoring, under the guidance of the Director Communications, flagging relevant coverage, risks, and opportunities promptly. Support the Manager Communications with data and inputs for media analysis and impact measurement (e.g., share of voice, sentiment).

3. Design and Creative Collaboration Brief and work directly with the designer on visual content for newsletters, social media, reports, and events, proactively proposing formats and creative angles. Quality-check designed materials before publication for messaging and brand alignment.

4. Project Management and Team Support Run day-to-day project management for the Communications team: maintain content calendars, task trackers, and shared timelines across projects. Provide administrative and logistical support to the team, including department-led events and the Communications Committee (agenda-setting, meeting organisation, minute-taking, follow-up on member feedback). Coordinate with external providers (freelancers, agencies) on discrete production tasks as needed.

The Requirements:

Essential Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, European Studies, Languages/Translation, or a related field. First relevant experience in digital communications, content production, or project coordination (internships and traineeships count) is a plus. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English; ability to adapt tone and format for different digital audiences. Hands-on experience with digital communication and content tools (e.g., CMS/website platforms, email/newsletter tools such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact, social media management tools, Canva or similar design tools). Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Eye for detail, proactivity, and willingness to learn. Strong team player, comfortable working cross-functionally with the Manager Communications, designer, and policy/technical colleagues. Fluency in English; additional EU languages are a strong asset. Eligible to work in Belgium.

Nice to have Experience with Adobe Suite, video concept development, or podcast production. Previous experience in crisis communications. Experience managing external agencies or freelancers for event or content production.

The Competences: Strong organisational and project management skills. Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver against deadlines, with resilience to a varied workload. Proactive attitude, with an eye for creative and content opportunities. Ability to work with different functions, teams, and seniority levels. Team player who also works well independently. Attention to detail and commitment to editorial quality. Openness to feedback and continuous learning.

The Offer: A permanent full-time work contract (39h/week) under Belgian law. Competitive salary package plus additional benefits, including lunch vouchers, mobile phone subscription, work laptop, reimbursement of public transport, pension plan & medical insurance. Possibility of homeworking 2 days/week. Opportunities for training and personal development to support your career growth.
