To reinforce its Accounting & Finance team in Brussels, our client is currently looking for a Senior Accountant who will play a key role in ensuring accounting accuracy, tax compliance, statutory reporting, and process excellence within a multinational environment.

Active in the distribution and trading of industrial and chemical products, the company combines commercial expertise, logistics capabilities, and financial strength to support international business operations.
Description
- Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews;
- Acting as the accounting reference point for the Belgian entity and overseeing the quality of accounting transactions processed by the Shared Service Center;
- Taking ownership of VAT compliance, tax-related reporting, and statutory obligations across multiple European jurisdictions;
- Coordinating annual audits and supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements;
- Partnering with business teams to provide accounting and tax guidance on commercial and operational activities;
- Ensuring compliance with local regulations, internal controls, and group accounting policies;
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives;
- Contributing to digitization and automation projects, including the adoption of innovative technologies and AI-driven solutions;
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience within an international or B2B environment;
- Strong understanding of Belgian GAAP and VAT regulations;
- Experience with statutory accounting and external audits;
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or SAP Hana is considered a strong asset;
- Fluent in English and French; Dutch is a plus;
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and process-minded;
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in an international environment;
- Proactive, hands-on, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives;
