Location: Antwerp, Belgium Start: Within 4 weeks Duration: 12–18 months Discipline: Commissioning / Start-up Position: Automation Supervisor
The Project For a major greenfield industrial project in Antwerp, Belgium, we are looking for an experienced Automation Supervisor to support the commissioning and start-up phase of the plant. As Automation Supervisor, you will supervise field activities related to automation and control systems and ensure that commissioning activities are executed safely, efficiently and according to project requirements.
Responsibilities Supervise automation commissioning activities in the field. Coordinate automation technicians, commissioning personnel, contractors and subcontractors. Plan and monitor daily automation commissioning activities. Support testing and commissioning of control and automation systems. Coordinate activities related to DCS, PLC, SCADA and associated control systems where applicable. Support loop checks, functional testing, interlock testing and cause-and-effect testing. Verify that automation systems are ready for commissioning and start-up. Coordinate troubleshooting of automation and control system issues. Follow up on punch-list items and outstanding commissioning activities. Coordinate closely with instrumentation, electrical, process, operations and other commissioning disciplines. Support system handover from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations. Monitor progress and report technical or execution issues. Ensure that all field activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and HSE requirements. Support plant start-up and stabilization activities.
Requirements Several years of experience in automation commissioning and start-up within large industrial projects. Experience in petrochemical, chemical, refinery, LNG or other process industry projects. Strong practical experience with industrial control and automation systems. Experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, interlocks and control system testing. Experience supervising commissioning teams and contractors in the field. Good understanding of commissioning and start-up processes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Practical and hands-on approach. Good communication and coordination skills. Good command of English.
