We are currently hiring an IT Software Governance, SaaS & License Management Specialist for one of our leading clients in the European energy sector. This opportunity is part of a Digital Workplace organization supporting software governance, SaaS management, license optimization, and continuous improvement across an international environment.


About the Role


As an IT Software Governance, SaaS & License Management Specialist, you will act as a central coordination point for the execution and monitoring of software governance processes. You will ensure that software and SaaS solutions are properly assessed, approved, inventoried, governed, and optimized throughout their lifecycle.


The role combines IT governance, SaaS coordination, software/license management, stakeholder management, reporting, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities


Software Governance & Process Management

  • Execute and monitor end-to-end software and SaaS governance processes.
  • Ensure security, compliance, procurement, and architecture checks are consistently applied.
  • Define and monitor governance KPIs such as compliance rates, lead times, and process gaps.
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and governance gaps.
  • Drive continuous improvement of governance processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • Promote a pragmatic approach that balances governance controls with business agility.


Software & SaaS Intake

  • Govern the intake process for new software and SaaS requests.
  • Ensure solutions receive the required approvals and validations before introduction.
  • Challenge requests and identify opportunities to reuse existing internal solutions.
  • Coordinate reviews and follow up with relevant stakeholders until approval or closure.


Software Inventory & Data Quality

  • Maintain the software catalogue and SaaS inventory.
  • Ensure accurate information regarding:
  • Solution ownership
  • Approval status
  • Licensing model
  • Lifecycle status
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of inventory data.
  • Improve visibility of software usage and help reduce shadow IT.


License Management & Optimization

  • Manage software licenses within the Digital Workplace domain.
  • Monitor license usage and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Follow up on renewals and contracts.
  • Analyze usage reports and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Ensure purchased licenses are aligned with actual business usage.
  • Contribute to software asset and license governance best practices.


Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a central coordination point between:
  • Business teams
  • Digital Workplace
  • IT Architects
  • Information Security & Data Protection
  • Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Other IT teams
  • Ensure smooth collaboration and timely decision-making.
  • Proactively follow up on actions and drive them to completion.


Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Produce and analyze governance and license usage reports.
  • Define and track KPIs related to governance effectiveness and service performance.
  • Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Improve transparency and reporting for stakeholders and management.


Documentation & Process Enablement

  • Maintain governance documentation using tools such as Confluence and SharePoint.
  • Ensure processes are clear, accessible, and understood by stakeholders.
  • Support integration of governance requirements into procurement and tender processes.
  • Contribute to standardization and simplification of governance workflows.


Required Skills & Experience


  • 3–4 years of experience in one or more of the following:
