To do this, we’re building a dynamic and diverse team of researchers to perform cutting edge innovation across its core themes of flexibility, automation, connectivity, market, engagement, and access, and pairing this with a strong support team to publish and promote research activities, engage with other research institutions and energy innovators, and develop a portfolio of activities.Based in Antwerp and London, recent investment in the team means we’ll be growing in scope, activities, size, and impact, giving newcomers to the team the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the team and its processes, as it in turn shapes the roadmap for the wider organisation and industry. We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Energy Innovation Analyst to join our Energised Futures team. This role focuses on supporting the team’s strategic direction by monitoring the evolving energy innovation landscape, identifying emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities, and translating these insights into actionable research. By aligning your work with the team’s broader research strategy, you’ll help advance impactful and sustainable energy solutions.About the RoleMonitor and analyse energy innovation trends, market developments, and emerging technologiesConduct research and synthesise complex technical, scientific, or business topics into clear and accessible contentUse data-driven insights to support arguments, identify patterns, and enhance the impact of whitepapers and reportsContribute to strategy development by providing high-quality research, analysis, and recommendations on priority projectsPresent findings and innovation insights to the team to support decision-making and maintain awareness of key developmentsWhat We’re Looking ForA proactive and innovative thinker with a strong background in energy innovation and market analysis, who excels as an internal consultant to drive strategic initiativesDemonstrated success in contributing to strategic projects by delivering actionable insights and recommendations in complex energy innovation contextsStrong writing skills, with experience producing whitepapers, research reports, or thought leadership contentAbility to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external stakeholders to gather and integrate diverse perspectivesFamiliarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Python/RExperience using LLMs to support literature reviews, competitive analysis, and drafting research content(bonus) Knowledge of energy policy, regulatory frameworks, and market structures at local, national, and international levels(bonus) Understanding of business modeling concepts, with the ability to assess commercial potential and value propositions of emerging energy innovations(bonus) Familiarity with funding mechanisms, particularly within regional, national, and European funding programs (e.g., Horizon Europe, EU Innovation Fund).If you think you’d be a good fit but don’t meet all of the above points, then we’d still love to hear from youWhy should you apply?
