OTA Insight is a commercial platform for the hospitality industry (our clients are Airbnb property owners, individual hotels and major chains like Hilton, Accor, etc.). These are exciting times at OTA Insight: we recently raised another round of funding ($80 million) and we have welcomed two new companies, Transparent and Kriya, to our organisation that will expand our product portfolio To accomplish our ambitious plans we are growing our Engineering team.
As a Team Lead, you will be the technology leader for a team of frontend and backend engineers dedicated to 1 of our product missions. You are passionate about creating and nurturing an environment that enables people to do their best work. You will be accountable for driving the vision and roadmap for all product initiatives within 1 of our product-focused roadmaps. You will be a high-level decision maker in the design and delivery of OTA Insight solutions, assisting with determining everything from reviewing designs to technical standards and testing.
This is a high-impact role within OTA Insight which combines people and technology leadership.

Responsibilities*
- Build and improve products that create meaningful value for customers and all stakeholders within the company (in partnership with Product Management for product roadmaps)
- Deeply understand our product and business strategy and client needs
- Deeply understand the technical in-and-outs of the product. Know how several components interact (infrastructure, api flow, data processing,) and be able to quickly sense what the impact of a given new development would be
- Actively participate in the product ideation process by suggesting product improvements, translating product goals and product feedback into high level functional designs, and be a critical voice in the process
- Own a development backlog of initiatives.
- Validate concerns, assumptions and ideas with functional engineering leaders, e.g. frontend/backend/data/data science/devops/security and other stakeholders
- Help to define the product vision, strategy and metrics for one of our core products (in partnership with Product Management)
- Be the facilitator on the technical side for feature delivery and maintenance
- Organise product development standups with engineers (and product manager when relevant)
- Coordinate between different stakeholders
- Oversee testing and rollout strategy for individual developments
- Identify technical roadblocks and bring people together to resolve them
- Closely work together with the team members to come to technical implementation of a new feature
- Document & verify high-level architectural decisions with engineering leadership
- Be a technical go-to-person
- Review technical issues and escalations and take action where necessary
- Coach new engineers into understanding the business and technical background of your product area
- Grow a great team
- Hire, develop and coach an exceptional team of engineers.
- Coach team members on personal and professional development
- Plan and prioritise work within your domain roadmap(s), absorbing planning complexity for team members

- Partner with engineering leadership to define strategy and vision on technology, product or team-related topics and take responsibility in defining how that impacts your team

We are looking for: *
- 5 years working in a technological role
- Advanced technological skill set and a thought leader
- 2 years working in a team management role
- Comfortable delegating work through a team of both juniors and seniors
- Ability to coach their team, both the juniors and seniors
- Actively addresses problems when identified and assumes responsibility for work
- Able to lead, prioritise, delegate and inspire in an ambiguous, highly dynamic, and highly demanding technology environment
- Willing to acquire deep knowledge of how revenue management and distribution works within the hotel industry
- Pragmatic in problem solving and decision making
- Is a clear communicator in decisions and the rationale behind them
- Preferably, has successfully participated in product ideation processes
