**The role**:
The EMEA cost controlling function is a key component of Eastman’s Finance Organization, supporting 8 manufacturing locations and several sales offices.
The cost controlling teams are based in Belgium, Germany, Finland and UK and are supported by a Corporate Cost Controlling Team.
In order to facilitate growth and drive automation/standardization, a new position has been created within the EMEA compliance center for a
**Cost Accountant - EMEA located in Ghent, Belgium.**
**Responsibilities**:
The Cost Accountant reports to the Operations Controller EMEA, has strong connects with the Corporate Cost Controlling Team and Regional (Cost) Accountants and will:
- Be extension of the Corporate Cost Controlling Team in EMEA: responsible for Coordination and Support of Monthly Closing Process, Yearly Budget Process, Physical Inventory Counts, Sox controls,
- Be driving standardization, automation and implementation of best practices across the regional Cost Accounting teams,
- Be an advisor to EMEA cost accountants
- Be responsible for
- Cost Estimates and Transfer Pricing
- First review of Actual Material Costs, Purchase Price Variances, of the various plants in EMEA- Play a key role in various ad hoc cost accounting projects.
**Qualifications**:
- Master degree in accounting preferred
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience in a multinational company
- Fluent in English both written and spoken (French is a plus)
- Has a "can-do" attitude, pro-active, flexible mind-set
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and preferred knowledge of SAP (FI/CO);
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
- Process automation experience and thinking preferable
- Is able to work in a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines
- Team player, good interpersonal and communication skills
- Individuals should be self-motivated and have the initiative to resolve problems with minimum supervision;
