Are you a creative, experienced protein scientist lookin’ to wield your powers as a force for good? The Downstream Processing (DSP) team at Those Vegan Cowboys is responsible for the purification and characterization of the recombinantly produced milk proteins (caseins) and develops the DSP process for large scale manufacturing.

We are looking for a person with good knowledge and experience in this interesting and important field of our
project/mission. You should be creative and motivated, someone who enjoys challenges with the aim to provide
caseins for good tasting cheeses. The DSP team closely interacts with other disciplines within the company: Molecular
Biology, Fermentation, Scale Up & Production and Cheese Development.

**Job description**:

- Develop & perform protein purifications, using different types techniques
- Develop & perform different filtration, and concentration techniques
- Evaluate all steps in the DSP process on various relevant parameters using different protein analysis tools

such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA, analytical HPLC, - Execute the designed experiments in the lab/pilot - followed by data collection, data analysis and data

interpretation- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team
- Responsible for individual safety and that of your colleagues by following the correct procedures and

policies.- Communicate with internal stakeholders through meetings, reports and presentations.

**Your profile**:

- Academic degree in Life Sciences with min. 5 years of experience
- In-depth insights in proteins, ways to purify and characterize
- Experience with relevant developing DSP unit operations
- Experience with analytical HPLC, including protein analysis e.g. via SEC, RP, ion exchange,
- Ability to work independently as well as in team
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Flexible within a dynamic environment and able to multi-task
- Good communication and organizational skills
