** YOUR TASKS**
- At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research.
- Your main task will be to follow-up on the climate data part of the TEMPUR project (FWO-WEAVE). TEMPUR stands for Climate change-related mortality in different population groups in urbanized Belgium. It is an interdisciplinary project that aims to investigate mortality over Belgium in a context of changing climate and demography. You will be responsable for the downscaling of past and future climate model information to kilometric scales over Belgium. It is important to include urban effects in the downscaling procedure.
- You support the supervision of master thesis and PhD students working on climate projections, downscaling techniques and urban climate.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- You hold a thesis-based doctorate in Physics or closely related sciences (obtained max. 6 years ago. This term of 6 years is determined by the date written on the above-mentioned required diploma).
- You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher in the field of climate modeling during your doctoral work and/or postdoc.
- Knowledge and/or experience with the ALARO-SURFEX model is a plus.
- Experience with downscaling techniques for climate projections and/or bias correction of climate projections is a plus.

**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU**
- We offer you a contract of indefinite duration with a maximum term of 1.5 year
- Your contract will start on 1/12/2025 at the earliest.
