SEC Newgate EU is a Brussels-based advocacy and communications consultancy with a global presence as part of the SEC Newgate Group.
We are looking for a Medior Accountant to manage our financial operations and ensure compliance with Belgian accounting standards and regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong accounting expertise, excellent organizational skills, keen to work in a stimulating, fast-paced, high-pressure and multicultural environment.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage daily accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, invoice verification, data entry, and payments.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and oversee month-end and year-end closures.
- Provide financial insights for planning, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Participate in budget development by analysing financial data, tracking expenses, and providing insights for budget development.
- Contribute to financial forecasting for long-term financial planning.
- Work closely with CEO and external financial controller to ensure compliance with audits and corporate requirements.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors as required.
**Qualifications and requirements**
- 5 years of experience in accounting, in a mid-level role, in a multicultural corporate setting - ideally in Brussels.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work proactively, autonomously and in teams.
- High level of flexibility, confidentiality, and professionalism.
