Procurement Category Manager

We are looking for an P**rocurement Category Manager - Investment and Infrastructure**who is strategic, results-driven and collaborative to join our **Procurement** Department, based in our UCB campus located in **Braine-l'alleud, Belgium.**

**About the role**

You will be responsible for developing and managing Procurement strategy for an assigned spend area. You’ll also handle end-to-end sourcing operations and contract management for a project portfolio closely linked with its assigned spend area (category) in strict alignment with all UCB applicable processes, procedures and code of conduct, strategies as defined by other Investment Category Managers.

**Who you’ll work with**

The role reports into the Investment Category lead and you will collaborates mainly with business partners from Patient Supply, Global Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Legal and Sustainability Corp. Affairs & Risk in order to deliver CAPEX projects of which the spend may vary between 150.000€ and 50.000.000€. The Investment Category Manager plays a critical role in the execution of CAPEX projects by endorsing the full end to end sourcing and contract management accountability.

**What you’ll do**
- Develop best-in-class Procurement strategies for an assigned spend area (category) and proactively manages the supplier base, in alignment with the Investment Category Lead.
- Collaborate with key business partners to implement strategies, supported by robust implementation and transition plans.
- Create persuasive business cases for change, including make-versus-buy analyses when necessary.
- Provide significant external supplier and market knowledge for the assigned spend area (category). Cultivate a solid understanding of technologies and trends that will shape the future of the category.
- Develop project portfolio procurement resource plan in close collaboration with the business partners and ensure appropriate procurement resource allocation.
- Provide insights into market dynamics, conduct benchmarking, assess the competitive landscape, and gather market intelligence to identify potential new partners.
- If required, select and pilot external procurement staff (contractors or engineering companies).
- Manage suppliers contractual and commercial relationship to meet main project drivers and secure project quality, budget and schedule
- Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed by Investment Category Lead and business partners.

- Masters Degree or above in related field.
- Previous experience in Category Management.
- Pharma or Biotech experience is beneficial.
- Knowledge of engineering technologies.
