WHO WE ARE

EarlyTracks provides and develops solutions to assist care institutions in their
management of high quality medical records, from the capture to the re-use of data.
Our position is unique in the field because of our focus on standardized and ‘fit-for-use’
content.

This effort is foundational for the industry: healthcare institutions face complex trends:
on one hand, treatments are becoming more and more complex and unique, data
and already highly solicited.

Focusing on ‘health information management’ enables EarlyTracks to develop a cutting
edge expertise for the benefit of our 15+ hospitals client base in Belgium. We have a
strong historical expertise in Clinical NLP (as we are a university spin-off coming from
that field), and we also work on other ML-based solutions, terminological resources and
smartly crafted interfaces for information management.

Medical IT is a quickly growing field and EarlyTracks is leveraging that trend to grow
quickly, expanding into new markets and developing new solutions.

The company is based in Brussels (EU district), near Merode Metro Station.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are currently looking for a Tech Lead to join our team.

The Development team is in charge of integrating our machine learning models into API
services that are robust and that scale. The team leverages state-of-the-art data
processing workflows, queue management and industry-standard API, in a microservice
architecture capable of processing various types of medical information. The team is
also responsible for the integration of the solution into our customers' infrastructure,
maintaining the solution and providing high level technical support to our partners.

As the Tech Lead, you will be responsible for the development and the maintenance of
our solutions. This includes: translating product definitions to technical specs, creating
and implementing the logic, data storage and APIs of our tools. You are responsible for
the functionality and performance of the solutions. You will work closely with the
product team, to ensure that the deliverables meet customer needs. You will also be
responsible for ensuring that the team follows best practices for software development
and staying up to date with new technologies and industry trends.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE
- Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable tools (including APIs and

workflows)
- Refactor the existing code base when needed
- Perform peer coaching and mentoring through code reviews, testing,

documentation and sharing of knowledge
- Manage the development process from start to finish, including requirements

gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment
- Solve complex technical challenges linked to our R&D roadmap along with the

Machine Learning and terminology teams ;
- Work with the rest of the product team to translate product needs into clear and

pragmatic development requirements
- Stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends and recommend

new technologies and tools to improve the development process

WHO YOU ARE
Note: If you are confident that you have the skills and knowledge to perform the duties

5 years of relevant backend development
- Experience or strong interest in leading and mentoring
- Working knowledge with system and devops topics
- Interest in working with latest technologies and innovations

- Structured and organized approach
- Good communication skills
- English and French

Tech stack you have learned
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Experience with databases challenges (SQL, NoSQL)
- Experience with building and consuming REST API
- Good experience with networks, scalability and security
- Good-practice tools for version control and containerization (ex. Git, Docker)
- Experience with Cloud services (Azure and AWS)
- Experience with agile development methodologies
