In its role as Accounting Specialist, the function ensures the company delivers on time and in full IFRS reporting, in line with JDE policies. It also ensures all statutory, direct and indirect taxes reporting are duly prepared. He/she is the first line contact with external partners such as auditors, outsourcing partner, etc
- Complete assigned daily ledger entries and other financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles so that the general ledger is accurate and up-to-date
- Execute closing accounting activities and supervise tasks performed by our outsourcing partner
- Ensures correctness and completeness of the general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and comply with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards
- Reconciles accounts, post journal entries and maintains a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules
- Collects, compiles, verifies and analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports and accounting statements for management purposes, including profit and loss statements, balance sheet
- Ensure compliance to IFRS and local reporting standards and tax regulations
- Ensure accounting/VAT flows are aligned with operational flows
- Preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with BE GAAP
- Bridge IFRS reporting and BE statutory results
- Ensures compliance with the Internal Control framework
- Business partnering with Controlling team to streamline processes
- Actively participate in JDE group Finance forums and improvement projects

For this role as an Accounting Specialist, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
- Good Excel skills
- Accurate, flexible thinking, analytical skills
- Team spirit, result and solution oriented
- Good Excel skills
- Influence others within job areas through explanation of facts, policies and practices
- Keen to improve processes and embrace new technologies eg Robotics
- Drive & ambition
- Dutch/English/French (at least 2 fluent orally and in writing)

Nice to have:

- Experience in a FMCG environment
- SAP experience
