**Job Summary - IT Data Migration Lead**
This role has critical ownership of all data migration related tasks within large global programs and projects.
The IT Data Migration Lead will partner with business unit leaders to plan new initiatives, provide estimates and proposals, and manage the data migration work according to strategic priorities.
They will own the data migration activities from discovery to hyper care
ensuring that all deliverables generate business value.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
UNDERSTAND DATA MIGRATION NEEDS
- Meet with business partners and data owners to find out data migration needs.
- Audit existing data, provide gap analysis and analyze for suitability of extraction and

migration.
- Identify data cleansing requirements.
- Identify the volume and complexity of data involved
- Work with business in creating data dictionary, business rules etc.
- Act as the principal technology advisor for data migration, data warehousing, data
- Owns partnering with relevant teams and coaching others to develop data migration

enablement roadmaps.
CREATE AND EXECUTE DATA MIGRATION PLANS
- Provide estimates and/or create project plans for the data migration process per initiative.
- Identify risks and issues within the data migration plans. Own issue resolution and risk

mitigation.
- Determine target data to be migrated, work with business owners to decide quantity

needed for migration and business justification for target data to be included.
- Document processes and create playbook for future reusability. This should include

developing best practice standards for data migration activities.
- Conduct data cleansing activities in preparation for data migration.
- Own finding and fixing data issues during the data cleansing process.
- Create detailed plans and designs for data mapping from source to target systems.
- Execute data migration activities on schedule.
- Anticipate migration activity issues and implement mitigation plans when necessary.
- Plan for and manage data verification steps once migrated to target system.
- Typically oversees 1-5 direct reports at data specialist level and is engaged in initiatives

their teams are managing.
- Partner with business and IT leaders to evaluate proposals, build business cases and plan

new joint initiatives.
- Partner with external vendors including implementation partners and software vendors

executing as one team.
- Contributes to project funding steps on assigned efforts. May be asked to describe and

justify initiative at approval reviews. Coaches team on their coordination.projects.
MEASURE DATA MIGRATION EFFECTIVENESS
- Work with business and IT to ensure expectations and effectiveness of each team is

understood and developed through mutually agreed KPIs
- Owns KPIs for assigned business units. Responsible for monthly updates back to IT

group. Ensures team is meeting deadlines for updates.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
- Bachelor's degree in business or IT discipline
- 15+ years of IT and/or business experience
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
- Expertise in Extract, Transform, and Load technologies, designs, and approaches in ERP,

preferably SAP ECC and cloud solutions
- Expertise in data warehouse, data quality, business rules and building data dictionary
- Work experience in large scale SAP data environment
- Expertise in cloud data warehouse technologies
- Expertise in high volume and complex data environments
- Expertise in agile methodologies and ability to leverage best practices for repeatable processes
