Treasurer

**Company**:
The Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries - BIO is a development finance institution owned by the Belgian government that seeks to support the private sector in developing countries by investing in local enterprises, either directly or indirectly (e.g. through financial institutions or investment funds) and provide structured long term loans in hard currency and local currency, as well as equity.

**Function**:
As treasurer at BIO you will supervise incoming and outgoing financial transactions, guarantee efficient management of public funds, ensure respect of regulations, and optimise the investments and treasury.

**Tasks and responsibilities**:
**Treasury & Liquidity**
- Daily follow-up of treasury positions.
- Cash flow prediction in the short and medium term.
- Financial investments (OLOs, fixed-term deposits).
- Relationship with the Belgian Debt Agency and the DGD.

**Capital Mobilisation**
- Identification and structuring of financial resources (subsidies, guarantees, etc.).
- Participation in discussions with lenders.
- Integration of investments in the treasury strategy.

**Risk & Hedging Management**
- Introduction of hedging instruments (forwards, swaps).
- Follow-up of exchange rate and interest rate risks.
- Coordination with the Risk Manager.

**Portfolio Management**
- Follow-up of projects in eFront.
- Disbursements, reimbursements, reporting.
- Creation of projects and investees in our tools.

**Support to the investment teams**
- Advice on financial structuring of projects.
- Preparation of disbursement plannings.
- Training on hedging instruments.

**Banking Relationships**
- Good relationships with the banks, and optimisation of banking terms and conditions.

**Conformity & Reporting**
- Regular reporting to management and to the partners.
- Participation in audits.
- Reconciliation between accounting / investment tool (eFront).

**Profile**:

- At least 5 years’ experience in Treasury, Finance or Accounting.
- Command of hedging instruments (indispensable).
- Knowledge of financial products, cash management.
- Very good command of Excel and financial tools.
- Knowledge of eFront is a plus.
- Affinity with risk management.
- Organisation, meticulous and autonomous mindset.
- Good communication skills and team spirit.
- Sense for internal service.
- Fluent in French and/or Dutch, good level of English.
