Our Client is a fully independent gas infrastructure group with 1,200 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas.

**Your Responsibilities**

You will monitor and provide support to the Group's Belgian and international subsidiaries with regard to tax audits, disputes, and litigation, in liaison with the internal correspondents of these entities and local tax adviser;
You will be responsible for the tax aspects of M&A projects: you will take part in the acquisition process, in collaboration with the Corporate Business Development and Innovation Departments (Belgian and international):

- Tax due diligence for target companies in Europe and outside EuropeoParticipation in the acquisition and financing structure, tax recommendations (asset deal/share deal, etc.)overview of tax legal documentation, and negotiation of tax clauses (guarantees, etc.
- Analyze, implement and monitor supranational tax regulations;
- Be in charge of the tax aspects of (Belgian and international) restructuring operations: mergers, partial contributions of assets, etc.
- Analyze, implement and monitor the tax aspects of Belgian innovation and R&D projects interacting with high-level internal and external stakeholders, present your analyses, discuss your recommendations and provide tax advice;
- Check Belgian and international tax returns and follow up and verify the tax and customs aspects of goods and services between the subsidiaries;

**You will need**:

- A master's degree in taxation, economics, law, or equivalent experience;
- At least five years of experience in taxation with a consulting firm and/or a medium or large group, preferably in an international context;
- Experience in customs and excise matters is a plus;
- The ability to make decisions, identify problems, and propose solutions proactively, in a cross-functional context;
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, and corporate tax
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent command of English and very good knowledge of French and/or Dutch
- Very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of SAP is an asset
