Bird & Bird's firmly established corporate & commercial team wishes to recruit an associate with 2 to 6 years of experience in Brussels.

Our Brussels-based corporate & commercial team advises on all forms of corporate & commercial transactions, structures, issues and disputes, both within Belgium and internationally. The assistance we provide to our clients maximises the value of technology and innovation and allows us to bring a commercial outlook and market perspective from the beginning of the relationship.

Our team represents a variety of clients, from SME's to large multinationals and as a result we regularly advise on complex multi-jurisdictional matters. Bird & Bird has 31 officesacross 22 countries in Europe, the Middle East, North America and the Asia-Pacific Region which our corporate & commercial team regularly liaises with in order to advise clients on all international aspects.

The commercial and dispute resolution side of our practice has grown significantly over the last few years and we are looking at recruiting a dynamic associate, with some level of experience and mainly interested in working and further developing that part of our practice.
- What you'll do_

You'll provide advice and assistance in the core areas of the practice:

- Commercial contracts (distribution, manufacturing,) and related risks (liabilities, warranties, insolvency,);
- Real estate (sale and purchase transactions, lease agreements, superficie agreements,); and
- Dispute resolution, out-of-court but also in court proceedings (as well as arbitration), in relation to all of the above.
- You can count on the firm's support to:_
- Provide legal services to a variety of domestic and international, large and smaller clients through challenging, cutting-edge work ‎ ;
- Have direct client contact from day one;
- Work with experienced professionals, who are true experts in their field, and be encouraged to further develop your legal, business and interpersonal skills through continuous training and mentoring;
- Be actively involved in marketing and business development initiatives;
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Bird & Bird's key sectors, mainly in high-tech and regulated industries;
- Receive an attractive remuneration package; and
- Take part in various social activities and events of our Brussels office and internationally.
- Your skills_

We are open to an associate who has a first experience as junior associate to someone with up to 6 years of relevant experience. We are looking for someone with:

- Mothertongue level of French with an excellent command of Dutch and English;
- A strong academic background in Belgium, additional studies abroad are an asset;
- Strong analytical, reasoning and writing skills;
- Committed to delivering high-quality work;
- A good team player, fitting in well with our open, entrepreneurial culture; and
- Readiness to also help out on the corporate side in case of need.
