Role: DevOps

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Type: Hybrid (2 - 3 day per week on-site)

Languages: Fluency in French, Dutch and English (C2 minimum)

Position overview: As a Multilingual DevOps Maestro, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of real-time railway traffic systems. You will provide expert support to fellow DevOps engineers while coaching and mentoring junior engineers to help them excel. You’ll oversee and advance DevOps initiatives across critical projects, collaborating closely with Agile teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Automating CI/CD pipelines will be a key part of your role, optimizing deployment processes, and implementing automated installation and Disaster Recovery Procedures (DRP). You will prepare and present sprint demonstrations to showcase progress and update and refine both technical and operational documentation. Sharing your knowledge will be crucial to fostering growth and innovation within the team, and you’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving bugs to maintain system performance and reliability.

Must have Skills:

- Relevant higher education (minimum Bachelor's degree, ideally Master’s).
- Proficiency in three languages: Dutch, French, and English.
- Strong knowledge and experience with the following tools and methodologies:

- Agile/SCRUM in a software development context.
- Ansible, AWX.
- CI/CD technologies: Jenkins, GitLab.
- Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
- Scripting: Bash, Python.
- Linux services: HAproxy, Keepalived.
- Databases: MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB.
- Monitoring tools: Grafana, Zabbix.
- Security concepts: SSL, certificates, etc.

Preferable Skills:

- Knowledge of BI/datastores (ElasticSearch, Kibana, Kafka).
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
- Knowledge of web services (SOAP, REST) and network concepts (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancing).
- Experience with JIRA Agile, Xray, and Confluence tools.

Other Relevant Information: On-Call Service
- Frequency: approximately once a month.
- Participation in 24/7 on-call service and planned interventions (releases).
