**YOUR TASKS**
- You contribute to an Industrial Research Valorisation and Acceleration (IRVA) project of Flanders Make about Cost-Sensitive Learning for Optimised Maintenance Strategies (COSTLEAP).
- You develop both predictive and prescriptive models that integrate cost-sensitive learning to prioritise maintenance decisions based on their financial impact.
- You contribute to academic publications and present research findings to both academic and industry audiences.
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- You hold a Ph.D. in Business Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong Python coding skills, with experience using data science (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn) and optimisation (e.g., PuLP, PyGAD, pymoo) libraries.
- Experience in cost-sensitive learning, machine learning, and optimisation techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and industry partners.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and business-oriented mindset.
**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU**
- We offer you a fulltime contract of definite duration for the period of 2 years.
- Your contract will start on 1/01/2025 at the earliest.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a Ph.D.). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
