The core activities are academic education, scientific research and scientific services within the domain of process monitoring and optimisation. Here, research is specifically expected to be developed complementary to ongoing research within the department/faculty and to focus on monitoring and optimisation of green and circular technologies. **Academic education** **Academic research** You will build research in the field of process monitoring and optimisation, with a specific focus on circular and green technology. Within this domain, there is both a national and international trend towards introducing intensified instrumentation, data collection, automation and digital technologies with the aim of making industrial processes more traceable, environmentally friendly and energy - and resource-efficient. You conduct research in this field in close cooperation with industry, strategic research centres and stakeholders such as CAPTURE and Veg-i-Tec. You thus develop market-relevant solutions within the domain. **Academic services** You take part in the internal and external service provision of the Department of Green Chemistry and Technology. In addition to broad scientific services, you are also expected to be involved in services related to education (quality), in particular within the framework of the relevant education committees. **PROFILE** **Experience** - You have already conducted eminent academic research in the given discipline, which is clearly reflected in publications in high-quality academic journals, peer-reviewed books, and/or patents; - You have concrete plans to develop further research in the specified field, with a link to practice; - You are capable of initiating, supervising and acquiring the necessary funding for academic research, in particular in cooperation with industry and/or strategic research centres; - You are didactically skilled to teach university students to develop academic competences and can demonstrate that you can successfully supervise students; - You have possible links with other areas within the department in terms of research and teaching. - You can demonstrate successful collaboration with fellow researchers (both national and international) and/or industry; - Recommended are: - International mobility, among other things thanks to research stays at institutions external to the one where you acquired your highest academic degree; - Positively evaluated experience in provided or organised academic lecturing; - Professionalisation of education - Experience in leading research and/or supervising doctorates - Experience in translating research into practice. - You must master the language of instruction in which you will teach a course at CEFR- level C1.You can demonstrate this by means of a language certificate or a diploma obtained from an institution in which that language is the language of instruction. In addition, Article II.270, -1 of the Codex of Higher Education requires that: (i) you must master the Dutch language at least at CEFR-level A2 within two years after the start of the appointment. (ii) you must be able to master the Dutch language at least at CEFR-level of B2 within five years after the start of the appointment.
