For its Ghent location, Milliken is currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Purchasing Specialist
Function
As a Junior Buyer your role will be to coordinate procurement projects and solve purchasing issues for indirect spend for our Belgian plant and be responsible for supplier relationship management with strong focus on systems and developing our supplier base to be more sustainable. This position is based in Ghent and you will report to the analyze the current portfolio of suppliers and look for creative saving opportunities that reduces the total cost for the company and check the purchase terms. negotiate prices, lead-times and year contracts with national and international suppliers. Perform supplier visits and quality audits Periodically evaluate suppliers on pre-defined KPI’s such as delivery performance, product quality, service level, sustainability and environmental footprint. Create and maintain supplier and material master data in SAP Checking and resolving differences between orders and invoices that are noticed by the accounting department. Based on regular reviews, you bring improvement actions or optimizations on product, process and supplier level.
Profile
You have a commercial/economical bachelor or master’s degree
You have a first experience in purchasing or supply chain
You have excellent spoken and written skills in Dutch and English. French is a plus.

**Good computer literacy**: advanced knowledge in Excel. SAP is a plus
You are a born negotiator & an excellent communicator
You are eager to learn technical matters
Being accurate, thorough and accountable are key in this role
