Environmental and Climate Policy Expert, Cap

RURANET EEIG is looking to recruit an experienced Policy Expert to join our team at the CAP Implementation Contact Point (CAPI CP), an integral part of the EU CAP Network.
**Your tasks working as part of a multi-disciplinary team will include**:
- Contributing to and playing a major role in CAPI CP activities related to the analysis of information on actions supported under the CAP Strategic Plans (CSPs) and on general developments in agriculture, land use and rural areas;
- Developing and delivering Thematic Groups related to the CAP’s General Objective 2 - strengthening environmental protection and climate action;
- The design of workshops and events to support the wide range of stakeholders involved in specific areas of CSP implementation and policy (Managing Authorities, Paying Agencies, Auditors, other EC Desk Officers, other EU institutions, EU environmental, climate, bioeconomy, farming and rural development organisations);
- Facilitating and hosting of workshops, both online and in person, and the production of relevant follow up written outputs;
- Creating and delivering presentations on behalf of the CAPI CP, at EU CAP Network and external stakeholder events;
- General analysis and monitoring of supported actions under the CSPs and policy developments relating specifically to climate, natural resources and biodiversity;
- The identification and analysis of examples and good practices relevant to the implementation of the CSPs;
- The identification and briefing of speakers who can present good practices and/or present relevant themes at ENRD CP events;
- Drafting good practice examples, briefings and reports;
- Forming an integral part of the CAPI CP team, actively taking part in team discussions and communicating fluidly with other team members; and
- Taking an interest in and contributing to the wider work of the CAPI CP.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:
**Essential**
- At least five years’ experience, including working at a senior level, in fields related to environment, climate or natural resources;
- A good level of knowledge of the delivery and implementation of the CAP and rural development programmes;
- The ability to carry out background research and write this up in a clear and accessible way for a non-academic public in English;
- Confident presentation skills with experience of presenting to a wide range of stakeholders;
- Good facilitation skills, with an understanding and experience of different techniques;
- Very strong interpersonal communication skills, self-motivation, adaptability and a desire to work as part of a team; and
- Excellent English (CEFR Proficient User C1) and good language skills in at least one other European language (CEFR independent user B2).
**Highly Desirable**
- Knowledge of the European Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy;
- Knowledge of the European Commission and how it functions;
- Knowledge and experience of networking in a rural development context at European and / or National level; and
- Experience of organising and hosting workshops and events both virtually and in person.
