**Skills, knowledge, experience required**:

- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 year postrelated experience;
- Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience;
- 3 years' of experience with:

- The configuration and operation of HP Network Automation or equivalent network automation and orchestration systems;
- The configuration and operation of Network Monitoring and Event Management systems ,e.g. Spectrum, Splunk;
- Multivendor (e.g. Cisco, Nokia, Dell) Routing (WAN) and Switching (LAN), as well as Enterprise environments;
- Experience in:

- The use of an Incident Management System such as BMC ITSM;
- Working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
- Knowledge of:

- Implementing and operating WAN and LAN technologies within an Enterprise and Services Provider network;
- IPv6 network technologies and concepts;
- Data center technologies and Virtualized Switching;
- Implementing and operating multi-tenancy network technologies and environments network, such as IGMP, PIM and VRF/VLAN;
- Developing and maintaining automation based on DEVNET concepts and scripts using EXPECT, Python or PERL;
- Layer 2 and layer 3 family IP Cryptographic Equipment or similar Encryption devices;
- NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.
- Minimum qualification of associate level certification (e.g. CCNA, NRS I, DCA)
- General understanding of related telecommunications systems and techniques of TDM, MPLS, Segment Routing, Software Defined Networking and Access;
**Duties/role**:

- Supporting to Projects, Services and Scientific Program of Work (SPOW) on diagrams, specifications, software, technical manuals, and other documents;
- Proposing and implement solutions to technical and business challenges in support of services and project managers;
- Supporting Project Managers and Service Managers in preparation and implementation of new capabilities and continuous improvement of existing ones;
- Routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure of local and remote sites;
- Collaborating internally throughout NCI Agency Service Lines and with external organizations for fault rectification activities during and post project implementation as required;
- Maintaining documentation related to daily activity logs, network configuration, network mapping, processes, operating procedures and service records within the Area of Responsibility;
- Setting up demonstrations, explaining features and benefits to customers, implementing solutions, and configuring products and services to meet specific customer business needs and objectives based on NCIA approved solutions;
- Configurating, implementation, and evaluating of test scenarios within NATO General Communication Services (NGCS) Reference Facility, pertinent to the area of responsibility;
- Maintaining an awareness of all ongoing network infrastructure configuration and maintenance activities to build and maintain an up to date picture;
- Configurating and implementation of available toolsets within the centralized and distributed user base;
- Investigating and proposing long term solutions to re-occurring problems and identify areas for greater efficiency to Line Managers as well as Services and Project Managers.
