Senior Financial Accountant

We are looking for: a **Senior Financial Accountant **for our branch in Lommel.

Reporting to the Plant Financial Controller the **Senior Financial Accountant** is responsible for the timely posting of transactions. Under the supervision of the FC maintaining reconcilations and preparing reports both for internal and external stakeholders.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Taking care of accurate monthly and year-end closing (IFRS and BE GAAP), including reconciling the accounts and taking the necessary actions/corrections in case of discrepancies
- Intercompany AR and AP reconciliations, inventory, obsolescence, goods in transit, capitalization
- Updating cost prices in ERP system and rolling of BoMs
- VAT declarations, Intrastat and statistical reports for review by FC
- Posting and maintaining evidence of general ledger transactions
- Preparation for review of monthly reconciliations
- Preparing reports on financial fluctuations
- Aid FC in preparation of monthly and quarterly divisional reporting
- Working under the supervision of the FC preparing ad hoc reports for local and divisional management teams

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Relevant third level qualification in Accounting
- Previous experience in a mid level accounting role
- Good MS Excel proficiency and experience of an ERP system/ transaction and journal posting
- Ability to summarise and explain financial information
- Good English language skills
