Radiological Characterization Expert

We are currently looking for a Radiological Charatcterization Expert to support one of our clients, an important engineering company, on its major nuclear projects.

Your main tasks and duties will be:

- Responsible for the sound roll-out and follow-up of all the projects, tasks and responsibilities entrusted
- In close collaboration with colleagues and team lead, contribute to Engineering Studies and projects in the field of Radiological Characterization
- Contributing to the development of waste characterization methodologies and to the preparation of nuclear installation characterization campaigns
- Maintaining the knowledge, required expertise and methodologies required to accomplish your missions
- Delivering ‘quality on time’: in order to achieve this objective, you will get all support required in terms of technical training, coaching and availability of (IT) resources
- Verifying work performed by colleagues
- Providing regular feedback concerning ongoing activities to your team lead and the Project Manager, while working autonomously towards the goals defined for you
- Identifying and implementing possible synergies with other teams and/or Competence Centres
- Participating actively to regular meetings with your colleagues during which workload, technical issues, project follow-up, development strategy and transversal activity coordination are discussed

**Requirements**:

- Have relevant experience in the field of radiological characterization
- Have a master’s degree or PhD in engineering or sciences, preferably in physics, with a strong technical background and a will to further develop your technical expertise;
- Fluent in French or Dutch and in English
- Draw up reports in French or Dutch and in English
- Relevant experience in radiological characterization required (at least 5 years)
- Flexible and creative in finding technical solutions
- Accurate and have an eye for detail;
- Autonomous and you like teamwork;
- At ease with IT-tools and familiar with the MS-Office software suite (including MS Access), and programming in Visual Basic or Python.
- Mission to be done also in NPP Tihange & Doel
