Finance Analyst at The Centre of Excellence

**Job Description Summary**:
Under the supervision of the Finance COE General Accounting manager, you will operate within the Inventory team which is part of the Finance Center of Excellence.

In this role you ensure correct accounting for, and reporting of, all intercompany movements in BD’s European distribution entities. This role also ensures that strong price purchase controls are applied in compliance with the company’s SOX regime.

**The Financial Centre of Excellence at BD**

At the Financial Centre of Excellence (COE) we drive standardization and centralization of general accounting processes, with a continuous improvement mindset. We specialize in fixed asset accounting, monthly financial reporting, and have a wide range of other activities in scope, including VAT, revenue recognition and balance sheet reconciliations.

**About the role**:
As a Finance Centre of Excellence Cost Accountant & Analyst, you will** **ensure accurate accounting for, and reporting of, all intercompany movements in BD’s European distribution entities. This role also ensures that strong price purchase controls are applied in compliance with the company’s SOX regime.

**Main responsibilities will include**:

- Preparing monthly reconciliations between the inventory management system and SAP financial accounting system.
- Investigating and resolving Purchase Price Variances.
- Follow up on credit notes and invoices due from selling entities and plants.
- Support local controllers in matters of local transfer pricing methodology and documentation requirements for local tax authorities throughout Europe.
- Provision of backup documentation in support of monthly, quarterly and yearly SOX controls.
- Coordinate (and be the main point of contact for) the standard cost update in the costing system for the annual budget with Plant Controllers.
- Maintain and update transfer pricing rules in the systems.
- Cooperation with external and internal auditors.
- Other ad-hoc pricing duties.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will have
- A Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or higher qualification
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Knowledge of SAP is a strong plus
- Excel skills (Formulas, Pivot tables, macros, Power BI,)
- Ability to work within a challenging and changing environment
- Can work independently but is also an excellent teammate
- A strong customer orientation (Countries, business & functions)
- Good communication and analytical skills
