Senior Scientist

**Make your mark for patients**

We are looking for a **Senior Scientist** who is innovative and agile to join our in vivo **Neuroscience** team based in **Braine, Belgium**.

**About the role**

In this predominately a laboratory-based role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and, analyzing in vivo experiments aimed at supporting our preclinical pipeline.

**Who you’ll work with**

Reporting to the Head of In vivo Pharmacology, you will work alongside other scientists within the group, but also build strong relationships across the organization.

**What you’ll do**
- Design, conduct and analyze in vivo studies to develop, implement, characterize disease models and evaluate novel therapeutics, with a particular focus on cognition and/or pain tests.
- Perform in vivo experiments and analyze data in a timely manner.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data to identify neurobiological mechanisms.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate behavioural study results with other neuroscientific approaches and support the development of assets in the preclinical pipeline.
- Manage selection and outsourcing of studies, including study design, data analysis and reporting.

**Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills**
- PhD in neuroscience, biology, physiology or pharmacology
- Must hold a current Felasa C certificate.
- Significant experience in in vivo research, with a specialization in rodent behavior.
- Demonstrated skills in conducting cognition and pain tests in rodents.
- Excellent data analysis and scientific writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with conversational French highly desirable.
