Lead Regulatory Counsel, Emea

Supervise and direct outside counsel on multiple regulatory litigation matters across EMEA
- Help to inform and execute litigation strategy in relation to matters pending before national and international courts
- Work with cross-functional teams on data protection, public policy, platform/partnership, product, privacy, and commercial issues
Develop creative approaches to managing legal risks, building internal systems and processes to improve outcomes and resolving disputes
- Qualified to practice law in at least one European jurisdiction
- 5 years plus of relevant legal experience, including at a top law firm and/or prior in-house experience with internet or technology companies working on litigation or contentious regulatory matters
- Experience representing companies in privacy or technology-related disputes
- Flexibility and eagerness to work on a broad range of legal matters across the EMEA region
- Ability to independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks and to present this advice to legal and non-legal leadership personnel
- Excellent multi-tasking and organisational skills
- Passion for and understanding of technology
- Fluency in English
- Experience of acting on formal regulatory inquiries, in particular with data protection and/or consumer protection regulators
- Experience of acting on contentious matters relating to GDPR/privacy, e-privacy, data breach or consumer protection contexts
- Experience of managing litigation in multiple jurisdictions, and/or at senior appellate levels
- Prior experience working with internet or technology companies
