Are you a System Architect looking to design and evolve real-time infrastructure management systems?

We are looking for a **System Architect** to join a team responsible for the design, development, and operation of the **EBP (Electronic Control Desk)** — a tailor-made traffic and infrastructure management system for **Infrabel**. These complex, real-time systems are **critical for 24/7 railway operations** and play a key role in ensuring safety and efficiency across Belgium’s rail network.

**Role**:

- Act as the **key liaison** between stakeholders to clarify and document functional requirements.
- Translate **business & operational needs** into a **future-proof system architecture** aligned with the EBP roadmap.
- Define and maintain **architecture & high-level design documentation**.
- Support development teams throughout the **software development lifecycle**.
- Guarantee **architectural consistency** across teams, with strong attention to safety, security, maintainability, and serviceability.
- Moderate **workshops & technical discussions** to validate architecture choices.
- Deliver high-quality **documentation** in line with internal quality processes and milestones.
- Contribute to the **roadmap** by clarifying and documenting new customer needs.

**Profile**:

- Fluent in **English** (spoken & written) and professional fluency in **Dutch and/or French**.
- Proven experience in **requirements analysis** and documentation.
- Strong facilitation skills to run workshops and extract customer needs under pressure.
- Proficiency in **data modeling & design tools** (e.g., UML).
- Broad technical knowledge: hardware, software, web portals, networks, firewalls, servers, and IT security.
- Familiarity with the **full software development lifecycle (SDLC)**.
- Open mindset to **modernize legacy safety systems**.
- Bonus: knowledge of the **rail signalization business**.
