Job Title: Senior System Architect / Senior IT Architect (Data Warehouse)Team: Architecture Team – Data Warehouse ProgramLocation: Belgium (Brussels / Leuven) + remoteWork Model: Hybrid – 50% office presence per month (at least 1 day/week in Brussels)3. Project & ContextLarge, long-running enterprise Data Warehouse within a major financial institution.Millions of queries executed daily.Not a greenfield project – continuous evolution of an existing platform.Key goals:Improve performance and efficiencyReduce costs where possibleIncrease stability and standardizationImprove usability for business users4. Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesDesign and review IT architecture for new and ongoing data warehouse initiatives.Provide architectural proposals for new projects.Analyze technical topics deeply and independently.Support multiple parallel initiatives (e.g. performance, reporting, cloud, optimization).Participate in:Weekly huddlesArchitectural discussions and solution brainstormingPI retrospectives (every 3 months)Collaborate with architects across different countries.Act as a sparring partner for teams by discussing and challenging solution options.5. Technical Scope & Required ExpertiseCore Skills (Must-Have)Strong SQL (core skill)Data Warehousing architectureStructural / relational data modelsData martsData transformationsData quality conceptsIT Architecture experience (senior level)Technologies & ToolsTeradataPythonAPI integrationsUnderstanding of SAS calculation engine (high-level)Integration patternsDomain Knowledge (Strong Plus)Banking sector experienceRegulatory reportingFinance & Risk domains7.
