ePURE, the European renewable ethanol association, seeks a Technical Affairs & Sustainability Manager to join its dynamic Brussels-based team and lead important work on technical, regulatory and sustainability issues.
**About ePURE**
ePURE is the association representing the European renewable ethanol industry. Our 39 members, including 21 producing companies throughout 16 EU Member States & the UK, account for around 85% of the renewable ethanol production in Europe. This renewable ethanol is mainly used to reduce emissions in the fuel market, but also in industrial markets.
**Tasks**
- Support ePURE’s policy and advocacy action with the identification of technical aspects underpinning existing and proposed EU legislations in the fields of environment, transport, (bio)energy, and chemicals. Inform colleagues accordingly.
- Coordinate the work of four technical Task Forces gathering bioenergy and technology experts from members companies and national associations on Lifecycle Assessment, Fuels, Statistics, and IED. Help build consensus on position within ePURE’s membership and with other like-minded associations before actively engaging with EU policymakers.
- Draft data analysis, briefings, memos, or presentations on various issues for circulation within the ePURE team or membership;
- Review and assess technical and scientific studies around the lifecycle analysis of fuels and chemicals and agricultural value chains;
- Lead ePURE’s production of statistics and reports engaging, if necessary, with third-party consultancies.
- Attend events and report back to the team. Represent ePURE externally upon request.
**Required qualifications and skills**
- Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g. engineering, science);
- 3 years’ work experience in the area of regulatory, sustainability and LCA on fuel/transport or chemical industries or relevant consultancies;
- Knowledge of EU legislative and regulatory framework on energy/transport desirable (RED, FQD, CO2 standards, Euro standards and Fit for 55 Package);
- High level of English (written and spoken). Additional EU language(s) desirable, especially German;
- Excellent command of MSOffice, and in particular Excel;
- Strong interest in energy, transport, chemical and environmental issues;
- Motivated, proactive team player, organised and with attention to details;
- Right to live and work in Belgium.
