As a Public Affairs Partner, we help our clients navigate political systems. We ensure that our clients understand the impact of policy and politics on their organisations and work with them to strategically reach their goals. We provide our clients with a keen understanding of the political debate and governmental processes, as well as the decision-makers that drive it.
Rud Pedersen has fourteen offices across thirteen countries, and almost 400 consultants with their own experience from politics and/or public administration. The Rud Pedersen Group is a growing public affairs and communications company that includes Rud Pedersen Public Affairs, Welcom and King Street PR.
Rud Pedersen Public Affairs is looking for a motivated trainee to join our growing Brussels public affairs consultancy for a 6-month paid internship.
Our Brussels office opened in 2017, and we are currently looking to strengthen our team with a research executive focused on working within the food and agriculture sector.
We offer the opportunity to work and grow in a fast-paced but energetic consultancy environment. Anyone joining will have the opportunity to develop within the Rud Pedersen team, working with our Brussels partners and the wider company.
**The position. In particular, the role entails**:
- Following EU developments and undertaking initial research on policy issues on behalf of clients;
- Supporting team with legislative, regulatory and press monitoring;
- Helping to organize and execute events;
- Taking an active role in client teams, suggesting improvements for servicing of clients with regards to research;
- Participating at external events relevant to day-to-day work and seeking to build relationships with external actors at an appropriate level;
- Contribute to our marketing efforts;
- Building competence at undertaking public affairs tasks on behalf of clients.
- Experience working with or in the EU institutions, government affairs, (i.e. internship);
- Master in relevant fields - i.e. EU Affairs, IR, law, political science;
- Interest and preferably some content knowledge in the fields of Agricultural or Food and drinks policy;
- An enthusiasm for conducting public affairs and communications in all its forms, from direct outreach to social media engagement;
- Interest in helping to organise and manage events;
- Experience in project management is welcome.
Full professional proficiency in English, with working knowledge of another EU official language. Your writing and English skills will be tested during the interview via a short written assessment.
