**About the role**:
**1- Background**:
amfori is dedicated to advancing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability within global supply chains. To enhance our understanding of the environmental sustainability competitive landscape and identify strategic opportunities, we are seeking a consultant to conduct a thorough analysis of key players supporting companies with Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) and Supply Chain Sustainability.

**2- Objectives**:
1. Identify and analyse major players in the field of EDD and SCS, including membership associations, sustainability schemes, certifications, service providers, software providers, and consultancies.

2. Understand the scope of services offered by each player, including but not limited to:

- Environmental topics included
- Key industry sectors targeted (currently and planned; including but not limited to têxtile, retail, food, and agriculture)
- Key pieces of legislation covered by their tools and activities for the relevant sectors
- Support mechanisms for clients
- Platforms for result sharing among clients
- Self-assessment and risk assessment tools
- Verification and audit services
- Capacity building initiatives and contents
- Reporting tools
- Certification or labelling offerings
- Factory and product assessments
- Support for environmental areas covered by GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), OECD MNE Guidelines, CSDDD or specific legislation.
- Support for EUDR, CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), CSDDD, Ecodesign Regulation and other environmental key legislation compliance
- Traceability and material allocation solutions
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Digital Product Passport (DPP), circular economy initiatives, and other relevant services.
- Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas emissions monitoring and reporting for supply chains (production sites and/or products)
- Potential reputational issues, complaints, or controversies in past 5 years

3. Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of each player's offerings in meeting client needs and regulatory requirements. Providing feedback on cost/membership formulas.

4. Provide recommendations based on the analysis to enhance amfori and/or specifically amfori BEPI's competitiveness and product portfolio.

**3- Scope of Work**:
1. Research and compile a comprehensive list of players in the EDD and SCS landscape with a focus on global players and those operating in amfori’s major operating countries (EU: mostly Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, France, UK, Spain; the US and Canada; China, Bangladesh, and India).

2. Collect data on the services, tools, capacity building, and support mechanisms offered by each player through interviews, surveys, and desk research.

3. Analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis) of each player and amfori BEPI.

4. Evaluate the alignment of each player's offerings with the environmental performance areas of amfori BEPI.

5- High level evaluation of the alignment of each player’s offering to GRI’s, OECD guidelines[1], and CSRD’s environmental areas, CSDDD, EUDR, ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation), traceability standards, circular economy principles, and other relevant regulations and frameworks.

6. Customer target analysis - who is the main target of the competitor brands? Do they focus efforts on a specific customer profile, sector, geography, etc. Include but not limit analysis to the following sectors and related industries: têxtile, retail, household durables, food products.

7. Positioning and Comms strategy - how do they represent their brand in comms, do they have specific marketing channels they focus on (like events, online, sales calls...) Include reputational issues, complaints, and controversies.

8. Evaluate the Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas emissions coverage and approach of each player.

9. Present findings and recommendations to the amfori management team.

**4- Deliverables**:
1. Detailed report outlining the findings of the analysis, including a comprehensive overview of each player and their offerings as compared to amfori BEPI.

2. SWOT analysis for each identified player and comparison to amfori BEPI.
