- Zoetis discovers, develops, and manufactures a diverse portfolio of animal health medicines, biopharmaceuticals and vaccines designed to meet the real-world needs of veterinarians and the livestock farmers and companion animal owners they support. Zoetis has the first monoclonal antibody therapy for treating atopic dermatitis in dogs. We are currently seeking to fill a new position to support our growing biopharmaceutical portfolio.- The Project Director shall manage the design, construction, commissioning and qualification of a new biopharmaceutical packaging and QC testing site in Belgium.
- As the owner’s representative on the project, the Project Director shall lead a team of engineering consultants, construction managers and SMEs to ensure the quality and timely completion of the project within budget.
- POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Project Management Delivery Team
- Ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality.
- Responsible for all aspects of project delivery including design, construction, equipment procurement, project budget and cost management, schedule management and risk management.
- Ensure project safety and environmental compliance.
- Obtain all necessary permits and regulatory approvals for site construction and commissioning.
- Select and manage key external parties for the project (including engineering consultants, equipment vendors and contractors).
- Coordinate with the Operational Readiness leader to provide a seamless delivery of the manufacturing capacity.
- Work closely with local government and regulatory bodies to obtain all necessary permits and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Provide timely and accurate project reporting and communications.
- Ensure smooth project closeout and turnover of the site from the Construction Manager to GMS Operations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all turnover packages.
- ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters Degree in mechanical engineering, or related degree.
- Over 10 years of experience delivering Capital Projects for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
- Extensive experience managing all project stages from project concept design, basis of design, detailed design, construction through commissioning/qualification to final handover to end-user.
- Experience managing drug product projects including packaging and testing.
- TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Strong proactive leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (or willing to learn).
- Be decisive and able to analyze complex problems independently, deal with differences, and make appropriate decisions timely.
- Be able to develop team members, achieve and optimize team performance.
- Project engineering and project management.
- PHYSICAL POSITION/QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- This position is based at the existing Louvain-la-Neuve manufacturing site and the new project site in Mont-Saint-Guibert.
