For our office in Lommel we are looking for a **Health & Safety Manager**

**Job Overview**:

- Conduct, update and maintain H&S risk assessments
- Develop and deliver H&S training as required
- Perform H&S audits as per the site and company H&S management system Advise project managers on H&S matters
- Develop and co ordinate the site H&S Committee
- Promote a proactive reporting culture via our 24/72 process
- Review and contribute to RAMS (risk assessment and method statements)
- Conduct incident investigations in a timely manner with the support of the project team, making recommendations to management in respect of these.
- Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting requirements are complied with.
- Monitor and report on the collection, recording, analysis, implementation of actions taken and feedback provided to the hazards identified during the weekly inspection/audits through our online management system
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to ensure that all risks are appropriately managed.
- Work with external authorities who visit the site to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Compile weekly and monthly data as required, communicate the information to project teams, key stakeholders and partners
- Develop and implement the site H&S management system e.g., ISO 45001
- Management and develop of key H&S programmes e.g., fatality prevention and industrial hygiene
- Work closely with site management to develop the H&S programme
- Develop and deliver H&S campaigns and communications regularly
- Keep the site up to date on all relevant legislation
- Develop and co ordinate the emergency preparedness and response programme
- Lead the implementation of companywide H&S best practice when required
- Lead and participate in various cross site improvement projects using standard project management approaches e.g., 6 sigma

**Specialized Qualifications/ Skills**:

- Qualified to at least NEBOSH Diploma or OSHA 30 level
- Member of H&S society such as IOSH or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years H&S experience in an industrial environment.
- Be an ambassador, vocal advocate, influencer and presence for H&S management;
- Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to build a network of connections both internally and externally;
- Experience in auditing an advantage
- Perusing an area of H&S speciality also an advantage e.g., industrial hygiene, fire safety etc
- English essential;
- Green Belt 6 Sigma Certified
- Good communication, management & people skills;
- Self-starter, strong work ethic and decision maker;
- Good time management;
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; and
- Good verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work in a vibrant multi-discipline environment.
- Willing to travel for business nationally and internationally that may require overnight stays on an as needed basis
- Some out of hours work will be required
