Tax Manager

**Working in the Telenet Finance-team**
For the Group’s headquarters, located in Mechelen, we are looking for a **Tax Manager **to strengthen our finance team. This position will have direct involvement and responsibility in the management of all tax matters of the company. The **Tax Manager **will report to the VP Finance.

As our Tax Manager, you will direct and oversee Telenet’s tax policies and objectives in Belgium and Luxembourg, monitor reporting and planning, and ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes. You are also lead point of contact with the global tax department of Liberty Global, Telenet’s main shareholder.

**Your tasks as our Tax Manager**
You will be responsible for all tax matters and represent the department towards senior management and other departments. You can clearly express your ideas and opinions, also towards a Board of Directors and/or Audit Committee. In this role you are responsible for all areas of tax, including transfer pricing, tax planning, tax reporting, and tax compliance processes throughout the group. You are also responsible for our (quarterly) closing processes (tax) and tax accounting (USGAAP/IFRS).

As Tax Manager you will be the tax lead in relation to business projects and initiatives, including mergers & acquisitions. From this role, you can push the business forward, and provide tax advice and guidance in complex strategic projects. Other aspects of the job are:

- Shaping and defining the tax strategy of the group, including coordinating with auditors and other tax professionals to develop strategies for dealing with tax issues and opportunities.
- Providing the vision and overarching leadership to develop and strengthen the organizational tax capabilities. Demonstrating exemplary ability to formulate technical or strategic directions to drive change and opportunity.
- Managing a team of professionals to develop the tax department further in a value creating environment.
- Optimizing overall tax reporting and forecasting (incl. tax accounting) processes
- Monitoring the tax compliance and tax reporting process of the foreign group entities and follow-up on their tax issues, in coordination with the local teams

**Our ideal Tax Manager **
has a Master / Professional bachelor’s degree in finance or law. Additional tax degree is an asset.
- Minimum 7 years working experience. Experience in **M&A and tax accounting **is a plus
- Multi-disciplinary interest (technology, finance, tax, telecom)
